Project Keywords:

Wnt signaling, hepatocellular cancer

Techniques:

Cell culture, cloning, RT-PCR, Western Blot

Project Summary:

Previous studies in our lab confirmed BRI3 (Brain protein I3) gene to be one of the transcriptional targets of Wnt/β-catenin pathway. IFITM3 and MGAT1 were identified as interaction partners of BRI3 by using Yeast-two Hybrid and CoIP techniques. Transcriptomic analyses of tumors overexpressing BRI3 and MGAT1 in mice revealed several associated genes and pathways related to cancer initiation process. We’re aiming to clarify these genes and their involvement in tumorigenesis and cancer progression by RNA and protein expression analyses.
